Stuart fishing report 2011,

This was a video I took of myself returning from 30 miles offshore. My fishing partner bailed on me at the last min. It was a beautiful day and there was nothing to stop me from going. I stopped to see a friend that was catching black fin tuna 11 miles offshore. The tuna were small so I headed further offshore for some larger game. I was in constant communication with other boats in the distance that said the bite was slow and no one was catching anything. About 26 miles off shore I located nice weed line. I followed it for several miles looking for signs of life. Then I see a bird in the distance diving at the water. I knew then it was show time. I pulled up to the spot, put the chum bag over the side, and threw a live bait on the first rod. Before I could put the bait in the water, out the corner of my eye, I saw a blue and green flash that came through the water like a lightning bolt. Then they were everywhere. My heart was pounding and there was no one else around. I knew I needed to make sure I didn’t do anything stupid in the excitement like fall over board. As soon as I put the first bait in the water, (Bam) the first fish was on. I wrestled the first 10 to 15 pound Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) to the boat but left him in the water. This kept the other dolphin around the boat. I then threw the next bait in the water and again, another dolphin. I couldn’t get the baits in the water fast enough. One after one, I gaffed each fish and put them in the fish box. Between each fish I brought in the boat, I had to quickly rig another bait and get it back in the water before the bite turned off. I managed to secure 7 nice Dolphin(Mahi Mahi) in about 20mins.The boat looked like a bomb blew off. It was a mess after I brought seven dolphin in the boat. With my salt water wash down, soap and a good stiff brush I had it clean in about 10mins. What an incredible day on the water and no one with me to share it with so I wanted to share a small part of it with you. In the video I was heading back to Saint Lucie inlet with earphone jamming some rock & roll, with sun protection over my face after victory at sea!
